SAR 312 - Art in Middle School Ed & Practicum (Art)

Students become familiar with art education at the middle school level, the development of art education in America, assessment, and issues relating to visual culture; observe exemplary programs; and develop and teach lessons in a variety of settings. A teaching journal, teaching portfolio, senior art exhibition, and senior paper are created. Fall semester. Tubercular check, Act 33 Child Abuse, Act 34 Criminal Record check, Act 114 FBI Federal Criminal History Record, and PDE-6004 (Arrest or Conviction Report and Certification Form) required. Fee. Three hours lecture and three hours practicum per week, additional hours as announced by instructor.

Prerequisite(s): junior standing and admission to the education program.
