BU 006 - Private Foundation, Corporation, and Government Grants

BUSINESS OFFICE POLICY: Private Foundation, Corporation, and Government Grants

Any employees applying for grants through a private foundation, corporation, or a federal, state, or local government office should work directly with our grants writer in the Institutional Advancement Office to complete the grant application. A copy of all completed applications, approved grant notifications, and non-financial performance reports from that collaboration should be delivered to the accounting manager in the Business Office to establish the general ledger account. All financial reports must be prepared in conjunction with the accounting manager in the Business Office and signed by the Vice President for Finance & Administration, CFO or Controller. Expenditures and income from government and corporate grant funds and matching funds must abide by Seton Hill University policies, procedures and grant guidelines. Each grant may have its own additional regulations within the written agreement or on their respective website. Please be sure to read all terms and conditions. Federal and State Funding Agencies have specific purchasing policies in place. See Exhibit B of the Procurement Policy for a complete description of policies and procedures related to the utilization of federal and state grant funds.
