SSC 260 - Science and the National Parks (General Science)3 Credit(s)
This course provides the opportunity to explore and learn about scientific principles and methods through an immersive experience in the U.S. National Park System and adjacent areas. The course uses variations in regional geography, landscape, natural resources, and ecology as the basis for scientific exploration. Students will become familiar with fundamental scientific principles, interpretation and evaluation of scientific data, the role of science in environmental sustainability and how science can be used to solve problems. When Offered: M-term as needed. Liberal Arts Curriculum: Satisfies the Natural Science requirement.
