This course provides an exploration of epidemiology and population health principles as they inform advanced nursing practice. Students will learn to integrate epidemiological evidence with advanced clinical knowledge to analyze population health trends, identify determinants of health disparities, and advocate for the wellbeing of communities and aggregates. Through the application of population health metrics, students will assess the effectiveness, impact, and sustainability of health promotion programs. The course culminates in the formulation and critical analysis of interprofessional prevention strategies for diverse populations. When Offered: Spring semester.
