This course examines the complex interplay between ethics, health policy, and professional nursing practice within contemporary health care systems. Students will explore how the concept of rights shapes bioethical decision-making and influences the delivery of equitable, patient-centered care. Students will apply evidence-informed approaches to evaluate health policies for their impact on diverse populations and health care systems. The course also prepares learners to advocate for improvements in health care delivery and to foster a culture of safety within systems-based practice. When Offered: Summer semester.
