An introductory course for basic comprehension and communication in Modern Languages (including Arabic, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, and Russian) that emphasizes the use of interactive technologies and online conversational exchange for understanding the target language in context. The course develops communicative skills as well as language acquisition strategies and intercultural engagement. Assumes little or no prior knowledge of the language. Requires web and app-based supportive practice.
