An introduction to the history, theory, and practice of art therapy and the interpretation of visual language. A combined lecture, discussion, and experiential course. Students become acquainted with art therapy practice through readings, discussion, exploration of their own image-making, and conscious reshaping of their responses to the image-making of others. When Offered: Fall semester. Prerequisite(s): This course is a prerequisite to all other graduate AT courses and must be completed with a grade of B (3.0) or higher for continuation in the program.
