SMU 220 - Music Methods/Inclusive Classroom (Music)3 Credit(s)
This course provides instructional methods and materials for teaching in the general music classroom. Students examine topics related to music teaching that include: instructional objectives, national and state standards, planning, principle learning theories, legislation and litigation for students with special needs, inclusion principles and practices, assessment, motivation, and management techniques. The course includes a practicum. Tubercular check, Act 33 Child Abuse, Act 34 Criminal Record check, Act 114 FBI Federal Criminal History Record, and PDE-6004 (Arrest or Conviction Report and Certification Form) required. When Offered: Fall semester. Prerequisite(s): SMU 102 . Fee.
