SSL 100 - American Sign Language & Culture I (American Sign Language)

American Sign Language 100 introduces learners to the unique characteristics of visual language. Learners are guided through engaging interactions using signs, facial expressions, gestures and body language in order to communicate about authentic and relevant everyday topics. Learners also explore elements of Deaf culture (both American and international) and the ways in which language and culture interact. Learners will reconsider their understanding of ability/disability as they experience a whole new means of communication.
