A survey course of the laboratory methods for studying microbes. Students explore microbes from both general and human-related standpoints. Students identify one unknown bacterial strain and maintain a laboratory notebook. Emphasis on skill development of techniques used by microbiologists. When Offered: Fall and spring semesters. Prerequisite(s): SCH 141 or SCH 116 ; and SBL 151 or SBL 153 or SHL 215 .
