SFN 301 - Criminalistics Laboratory (Forensic Science)1 Credit(s)
Students perform fundamental laboratory techniques used by a criminalist for the collection and analysis of physical evidence. Topics include crime scene processing, fingerprint enhancement and analysis, trace evidence analysis, microscopy, firearms, impressions, Gas chromatography, GC-MS and body fluid identification. Mock cases are analyzed. Students learn to maintain a chain of custody and how to write a crime lab report. When Offered: Spring semester. Fee. Writing Intensive course.
