SHL 214 - Human Anatomy & Physiology I (Health Science)3 Credit(s)
This course begins the study of the structure-function relationships within the human body across the cellular, tissue, organ, and organism levels of organization. Topics covered include: homeostasis, organization of the body, the cell, the integumentary system, the skeletal system, the muscular system, the nervous system, special senses, regulatory mechanisms, and the integration across levels of organization and organ systems. Various pathologies will be compared to healthy anatomy and physiology. When Offered: Fall and spring semester. Prerequisite(s): Prerequisite or Corequisite: SBL 141 and one semester of college level chemistry (SCH 115 , SCH 140 or similar) or with instructor permission. Corequisite(s): SHL 215 or with instructor permission.
