SRT 265 - Moral Theology & Ecclesiology (Religious Studies/Theology)

An examination of Roman Catholic moral theology & ecclesiology focusing on methodology and applications to Church ministry. Foundational content will include coverage of the sources of moral theology (Sacred Scripture, Ecclesial Authority, and human reason), the place of Christ and the Church in the moral life, natural law, the Magisterium, Christian virtue, human acts, sin, conscience, conversion, and principles for decision-making. Case studies on issues in biomedicine, sexuality, and social justice will highlight challenges of resolving moral dilemmas in pastoral and ecclesial settings.
