SOT 612 - Physical Disability Practice II (Occupational Therapy)4 Credit(s)
Examination of theory and evidence-based practice of physical disabilities areas that addresses regulation and integration functions. Emphasis on screening, evaluation and intervention approaches across the lifespan. Includes neurological conditions (e.g. stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS), and regulation system conditions (e.g. chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, lymphedema, vision impairment, dysphagia, burns, pain management). Rehabilitation skills include sensorimotor and task-based neurorehabilitation techniques, splinting, and modalities. Includes adaptation and compensation for daily living, driving and community mobility. When Offered: Fall semester. Fee.
