SOT 620 - OT Practice for Older Adults (Occupational Therapy)

Examination of theory and evidence-based practice to meet the occupational, behavioral, social and physical needs of older adults.  Focus on impact of aging and chronic illness on areas of occupation, emphasizing adaptations to prevent injury, enhance participation and promote quality of life (e.g. sensory loss, motor impairment, cognitive impairment, depression, anxiety, loneliness).   Analysis of occupational therapy interventions related to group, community and population services, differentiating by contexts and settings, and emphasizing engagement and resilience.
