SCH 107 - Textile Chemistry & Sustainability (Chemistry)3 Credit(s)
A study of the chemistry behind textile production for a non-scientist. This course will look at the science behind all aspects for fabric production - from harvesting natural fibers, manufacturing synthetic fibers, textile processing, and fabric dyeing. Special attention will be paid to environmental impact of each step of the fabric production process and sustainability along the life cycle of finished textile-based goods. This course will require participation in a community-based service-learning project that reflects course content and application to everyday life. When Offered: As Needed Fee
