SMA 300 - Numerical Analysis (Mathematics)

Numerical methods of curve fitting, finding roots of equations, numerical integration, and numerical solutions to differential equations, and to partial differential equations as time permits. The goal is to understand how creating a sequence of steps may lead to solutions of previously unknown questions. Software required (see instructor). Spring semester, even-numbered years. Writing Intensive course.

Prerequisite(s): SCS 131 and SMA 200. SMA 225 and SCS 141 recommended.
