Audiology 4 plus 4 Health Science, B.S.

COOPERATIVE DEGREE PROGRAM WITH SALUS UNIVERSITY GEORGE S. OSBORNE COLLEGE OF AUDIOLOGY

This educational pathway is referred to as 4+4 Doctor of Audiology Degree Program and is comprised of two phases, Phase I and Phase II:

Phase I is comprised of the student earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science at Seton Hill which includes pre-requisites for the Audiology doctoral program.

Phase II is comprised of the Doctor of Audiology Degree Program at Salus University.

To successfully complete Phase I of the Program, a student must:

  1. Complete the Health Science degree at Seton Hill, which must consist of a minimum of 120 semester hours of undergraduate education including the required prerequisites. All Salus University prerequisites must be completed with a grade of ‘B’ or better. These prerequisites include the required courses in English, mathematics, statistics, all science courses, sociology, and psychology.
  2. Maintain a GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.
  3. Submit a completed application to the Communication Science and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS), including score results of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and required letters of evaluation.
  4. Complete the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) with a minimum Quantitative score of 150; a minimum Verbal score of 150; and a minimum Analytical Writing score of 4.0. Score results should not be more than three years old.
  5. Shadow a practicing audiologist(s) for a minimum of 25 hours in order to be familiar with the role of the audiologist as a member of the healthcare team.
  6. Successfully complete an interview by the Salus Osborne College of Audiology and Office of Admissions.

Admission to Phase II of the Program

For consideration for admission into the Doctor of Audiology Program at Salus, a student must successfully complete Phase I. Students must apply to the Doctor of Audiology Program by following the application procedures as described on the Salus University website no later than January 31 of the intended entering year.

Degrees Conferred

Seton Hill University will confer the Bachelor of Science degree to a student who successfully completes Phase I, provided that all requirements for graduation are met, as determined by Seton Hill.

Salus University will confer the Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree to a student who successfully completes Phase II at Salus University, provided that all requirements are met, as determined by Salus University.
