Digital Humanities for Business and Design, B.A.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify elements of effective stories and critically analyze persuasion and argumentation within narrative
  2. Create effective and compelling stories, and choose appropriate structures, tools, & delivery according to a specified audience
  3. Describe the importance of empathy and global awareness, and apply that knowledge in developing storytelling and design
  4. Analyze the ethical implications of media and data and their impact on storytelling for business and design
  5. Explore new and emerging digital media to create impactful stories and designs using these tools, including capturing and manipulating digital images, sound, and video
  6. Practice skills that enhance creativity, including the ability to combine existing texts and ideas in novel ways
  7. Formulate an effective communication strategy to articulate one’s design, from conceptualization, planning and visualization to development and execution
  8. Critique one’s own perspective and work product in the context of analyzing different narrative works and diverse global audiences
  9. Manage design projects and consult regularly with outside businesses and nonprofits for effective community collaborations
