An introduction to the chemistry of living systems with an emphasis on the basic relationships of molecular structure to biological function. Analysis of proteins, enzymes, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, and major metabolic pathways. Designed for allied health students. Prerequisite: SCH 115 or SCH 122, or the equivalent. Corequisite: SCH 203. Fall and spring semesters.
