Introduction to novels and picture books for elementary school-aged children, with emphasis on presenting such books in the classroom, encouraging a love of reading, and addressing geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic differences through books. Fulfills literature requirement for teaching certification candidates. Satisfies the U.S. Cultures requirement of the Liberal Arts Curriculum. Fall semester.
