A study of diverse literary theories, emphasizing the practical application of criticism through deep textual analysis. Students will perform critical writing informed by advanced schools of thought, contemporary cultural issues and significant methods of literary research. Prerequisite: SEL 237 . Fall semester, even-numbered years.
