Explores the major themes and questions in Europe from the French Revolutionary period to the twenty-first century. The roles of gender and class and the relationship of evolving culture to society are key connections. In combination with SHY 325, counts toward modern Western Cultures requirement (SLA 201) of the Liberal Arts Curriculum. Prerequisite: SHY 325. Spring semester.
