An introductory course designed to stimulate understanding and application of both the aesthetic and practical aspects of scenery and sound as expressive media of theatrical design. The students learn technology, organization, and design skills and gain insight into the “duties” of designers through practical experiences while strengthening their design vocabulary through projects and discussion. Prerequisite: STR 215. Spring semester, even-numbered years. Fee.
