SNU 310 - Pathophysiology and Pharmacology I (Nursing)

3 Credit(s)

Provides a foundation on the pathophysiology of illness states and pharmacological therapies. Part one of this course includes the concepts of comfort, immunity, oxygenation, pain, metabolism and gastrointestinal disorders.  Principles of pathophysiology and pharmacology are presented in an integrated manner to provide a basis for application to nursing practice, emphasis on safe, evidence-based practice of medication administration. Integrates anatomy, chemistry, microbiology and physiology and pharmacology and focuses on their application to clinical practice.  


Credits: 3.

When Offered: Fall semester.

Prerequisites: SNU 203  and SNU 204  with grade B- or better, SHL 216  and SHL 217 

Corequisites: SNU 301  and SNU 302 .
