This is an introductory literature course in reading the Bible. The course surveys the formation of the Bible related to Judaic and Christian traditions. Students examine diverse literary forms: from mythic stories of origin and prophecies to poems and parables. Students develop the skill of critically reading biblical literature through a theological lens.
