SHY 307 - African History & African Disapora (History)

This course explores the varieties of cultures on the continent of Africa, examining the geography and history as the context for its varied social, cultural, economic, religious and political traditions. Imperialism, diversity and the continuing economic and political struggles of African nations will all be explored.  From this context, the class will then examine the cultural, religious, and economic connections of the African Diaspora to North America from its beginnings to today’s global community.
