Examines the history of Latin America from the earliest indigenous peoples to the present. Topics include pre-conquest societies, Iberian colonization, colonial society and economies, independence movements, national development in the nineteenth-century, urban industrialization in the twentieth-century as well as revolutionary political movements and the changing relationship between Latin America and the United States.
