SPY 520 - Interpersonal Processes (Psychology)3 Credit(s)
This course will introduce foundational interviewing skills to establish empathic listening and responding. Instruction is both experiential and didactic including direct interaction and role play, video recording, written reflection and instructor and peer supervision. Students will identify, apply, and investigate skills and metacognitive strategies to initiate, maintain, and terminate the counseling relationship. This course is a prerequisite to continuation in the art therapy program and must be completed with a grade of B (3.0) or higher.
