SSW 332 - Gen.Prac.III: Communities (Social Work)3 Credit(s)
Establishes both a theoretical and a practical, skills-based foundation for macro level generalist social work practice with communities. Formal and informal organizations and community groups are analyzed, students learn the mediating role of organizations and groups in communities, and they focus on macro level change, taking into consideration the role of oppression, discrimination and the uses stakeholder power. A 15-hour service learning component provides students with experience in macro practice with communities.

Prerequisite: SSW 331 .
