A study of instrumentation and the principles of operation underlying modern instrumental methods. The study progresses from basic discussions of signal and noise to a detailed understanding of specific techniques including spectrophotometric, chromatographic, and electroanalytical with emphasis on the atomic and molecular origins of analytical signals.
