SNU 440 - Community and Global Nursing 3 Credit(s)
This course synthesizes public health theory, research evidence and nursing practice to improve health of diverse populations in a global community. The role of the public health nurse as advocate for social justice and health equity is explored. Key concepts in public health such as epidemiology are applied. Population level data are analyzed to propose health promotion and risk reduction strategies. Knowledge from previous courses is integrated to improve the health of populations through prevention. Course includes a practicum component.

Prerequisite: Required 300 level nursing courses with a minimum grade of B-.
