SPT 615 - Clinical Education 1

This course is the first of 2 part-time clinical education courses. Students will be placed in one clinical setting for 8 hours per day, 1 day per week of clinical education experience in either an acute care setting, an outpatient facility or a skilled nursing facility. The primary purpose of this clinical experience is to allow the students to gain experience in physical therapy practice with emphasis on the clinical application and integration of the knowledge and skills learned in the first semester of the DPT program. The student will also have the opportunity to participate in learning experiences unique to the clinical site such as medical rounds, surgical observation, staff meetings and in-services, and interdisciplinary experiences. 


Credits: 2.

When Offered: Spring semester.

Prerequisites:  SPT 601 , SPT 602 , SPT 603  and SPT 604 .
