Becoming an effective educator requires more than extensive content knowledge and a desire to teach. It demands commitment, the willingness to learn from experiences, and a mastery of differentiated methods for instruction and assessment. In order to prepare prospective teachers to meet the challenges of today’s dynamic classrooms, this course presents a theory-to-practice approach emphasizing the latest in computer science teaching theory and research. Topics include content area-specific planning and preparation, strategies for cultivating an inclusive classroom environment, instruction, and professional development.
