Formal Review is a qualifying assessment that provides students with opportunities to demonstrate the professional competencies for teaching outlined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. In addition to Issues of planning and preparation, classroom environment, and instructional delivery, this process also addresses the Code of Professional Practice and Conduct for Educators (22 Pa. Code 22 § 235). Upon review, students may: 1. Be formally admitted to the Education Program and continue their course of study; 2. Be provisionally admitted, but must meet the GPA, coursework, or other clinical requirements before taking upper-level courses; or 3. Be counseled Into other majors.
