SPL 225 - Africana Philosophy/Black Theology (Philosophy)3 Credit(s)
An investigation of Africana philosophy and Black theology from the African cultural context and diaspora centers, namely, the United States. Writings from continental philosophy, Black existentialism, Black liberation theology, postcolonial theory, and cultural studies by African, African American, and non-African scholars will be analyzed along with activist movements. Within the context of colonialism and globalization, topics vary but remain anchored in revisionist philosophical anthropologies and corrective theologies of God and Jesus.
