The purpose of this course, which takes a holistic approach to sustaining pedagogy, is to introduce students to the historical, political, social, and legal foundations of education in the United States. In addition to offering multiple perspectives on complex issues such as restorative justice and school choice, it provides them with practical skills for setting instructional outcomes and planning coherent lessons that align with the academic standards described by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
