SMT 301 - MT and the Medical Setting (Music Therapy)2 Credit(s)
This course examines current research/cultural trends surrounding the use of music therapy to address a variety of needs associated within the medical community. Students will engage in and discuss therapeutic and personal attitudes, sensitive musical and verbal responses, various forms of effective communication, and work to connect with clients to cope, participate, and grow. Students will synthesize content through experiential learning activities and application in mock sessions with peers.
