This course provides rigorous details of how various components of mental health impact not only practitioners within the criminal justice field, but also their day-to-day professional interactions. Students in this course will examine, analyze, and critique practices and policies used in the criminal justice field related to mental health concerns. There is focus on recognizing, analyzing, developing, and applying evidence-based practices and policies related to mental health situations and diagnoses to various criminal justice organizations.
