The Innovative Instruction graduate program is an exciting new program that examines curriculum and instruction, design, and delivery. This unique degree demonstrates the latest in curriculum design and technology, preparing students for the world they are going to live and work in. In addition, the program includes strategies for addressing the needs of all learners in the 21st Century. This inclusive approach prepares students to teach, train, create lessons, and other curricular items for schools, business, and healthcare. The program is based on research and current practice. The program is designed to meet the needs of a variety of fields and can be completed in one calendar year.

Educational Objectives

  1. Analyze existing curriculum, training, and learner needs
  2. Develop and design curriculum and training based on organizational needs
  3. Utilize and apply a variety of learning theories in order to create instructional programs
  4. Assess learners using evidence-based practice
  5. Demonstrate digital media and technology literacy
  6. Utilize a variety of cutting-edge technological and instructional approaches
  7. Develop skills and professional standards in leadership and reflective practice
  8. Develop strategies to deliver curriculum and training materials in a variety of settings and formats

Requirements for the Innovative Instruction degree

  • 27 graduate-level credits are focused on curriculum, instructional design, and delivery along with learning theory.
  • 3 graduate-level credits are earned in ED942 Internship.
