Learning Objectices: International Business

After graduating with a BSBA degree with a major in International Business from the School of Business at Seton Hill University, students should be able to demonstrate the following:

  1. Critically thinking and application of critical thinking to solve problems.
  2. Ability to apply and integrate theoretical knowledge from the discipline into real life applications.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively - written and oral presentation.
  4. Ability to effectively use IT skills in information systems, statistical software, application in spreadsheets, and data visualizations.
  5. Ability to identify ethical issues in the decision-making process and solve problems ethically.
  6. Ability to recognize when change is needed, and lead change to reach sustainable outcomes. 
  7. Ability to lead with a global perspective, and instill leadership that values diversity and inclusiveness.
  8. Basic knowledge of accounting, management, marketing, finance, economics, and human resource management.

  9. Broad understanding of business expansion and operation abroad and key issues related to global operations.

  10. An ability to compare and contrast cultures and societies globally and design effective policies to operate and expand business operations in these diverse    countries.

  11. Demonstrate a broad knowledge about the role of international organizations and international agreements impacting business organizations.

  12. Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the basics of international finance, including but not limited to, international monetary system, foreign exchange determination and exposure, interest parity conditions, global capital budgeting, global cost of capital, and basic exports and imports.

 

All candidates for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in International Business must complete the Liberal Arts Curriculum requirements, the capstone assessment requirement, and the required courses for the major and develop competency in written and verbal business communication skills.

The capstone assessment includes successful completion of a showcase portfolio. Students are required to present how their professional identity is solidified by study in the liberal arts.

A minimum of 120 credits is required.
