SBU 555 - Health Policy and Economic Analysis (Business)

This course is designed to provide graduate students with an understanding of current health economics issues. Economics is used as a tool to analyze health care and health care policy. The basic approach is to recognize the importance of scarcity and incentives, allowing for differences peculiar to health. Primary topics covered include the production of and demand for health and medical care; information asymmetries between patients, doctors, and payers; and health care reform.
