SAT 585 - Multicultural Therapy (Art Therapy)3 Credit(s)
Considers characteristics and concerns of multiculturally diverse groups along with the impact of socio-political dynamics on health and wellness, including power dynamics inherent in clinical practice. Definitions of cultural competency are applied to practice through exploration of cultural humility along with topics of prejudice, discrimination and privilege within a pluralistic society. Students also consider the implications of including artmaking in assessment and treatment. Must be completed with a grade of B- (2.67) or higher for continuation in the Art Therapy program.
