SPT 611 - Clinical Reasoning 2

This course will introduce students to the clinical reasoning process involved with neuromuscular rehabilitation including clinical and medical history, relevant medical tests, and neuromuscular differential diagnosis. Concepts will include normal movement patterns, functional movement assessment and physical therapy tests and measures related to the neuromuscular system. Students will discuss normal movement and learn to assess deviations from the norm. A model of physical therapy patient/client management will be followed, with focus on skills that are essential for success in the field, such as accessing research literature, communication skills (including documentation), group work and teaming skills, professional behaviors, critical thinking and learning skills, cultural competence, leadership, and dealing with legal/ethical issues.   


Credits: 4.

When Offered: Spring semester.

Prerequisites:  SPT 601 , SPT 602 , SPT 603  and SPT 604 .
