SMA 340 - Mathematical Modeling 3 Credit(s)
A systematic approach to modeling applications from areas such as physics, chemistry, engineering, biology, and business (operations research). Dimensional analysis and scaling are introduced to prepare a model with discrete or continuous processes that may be deterministic or stochastic. A broad range of applied mathematics will be used to obtain information about the models, and these results will be compared to data to analyze the models.
