SED 667 - Spiritual Literacy (Education)

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to spiritual literacy. Students will explore various genres and forms of literature, including picture books, chapter books, nonfiction, and traditional literature in this context. Students will examine practices of spiritual literacy and investigate topics such as family diversity, disabilities, death, race, trauma, and social-emotional wellbeing. Students will also develop an understanding of literacy strategies for supporting struggling readers and examine ways to use spiritual literacy to address sensitive issues.


 Credits: 3.

 When Offered: Master’s session 3, Online.

 Prerequisite:  SED 661 . Admission to the Critical & Cultural Literacy, M.Ed. program.
