This course focuses on the promotion. maintenance, and restoration of health for women during the childbearing years, newborns, children, and their families. Emphasis is included on developmental stages, family processes, and health promotion practices. Cultural, ethical, physical, and psychosocial issues that nurses confront are included. Communication, use of research evidence and clinical practice guideline, and interprofessional collaboration are addressed to enhance critical thinking, clinical practice, professionalism, and leadership abilities.

Prerequisite: Required 300 level nursing courses with minimum grade of B-.
